NBC Sports will televise the first free network TV prime time boxing card in over 30 years.

Tonight, Al Heymon’s Premier Boxing Champions take over officially begins as NBC Sports will televise the first free network TV prime time boxing card in over 30 years. Fight fans have been waiting for months for the inaugural show. The lineup looks very promising.
In the opener Vegas tabs former 3 division world champion Adrian Broner (29-1, 22 KOs) of Cincinnatti, Ohio a 6-1 favorite over SoCal puncher John Molina Jr.. Broner is talking big saying he is going to “disrespect” Molina in this fight. It is worth noting that Broner came in 1 pound overweight which lead some to believe he isn’t taking his opponent seriously.
In the main event, top welterweights face off when undefeated Keith Thurman Jr (24-0, 21, ko’s) of Clearwater, Florida battles long time contender Robert Guerrero (32-2-1, 18 KOs) of Southern Cali in a fight that will put the winner near the top of the The Ring (magazine) ratings. “One-Time” Thurman has been knocking mid-level welterweights dead, but he has yet to face an opponent the calibre of “Ghost” Guererro, who recently went a full 12 rounds in a losing effort against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Las Vegas has Thurman listed as a 5-1 favorite.
What are your thoughts on the fights, PBC and the situation of boxing on network TV?
