Tevin Farmer will move up in weight to fight Ivan Redkach at the Barclays Center – Who Wins?

On July 30, 2016, Tevin Sucessful Farmer(21-4-1, 5 ko’s) takes a big step in his journey towards a world title fight. The upcoming assignment has the 25-year-old Philadelphian moving up in weight to face Premier Boxing Champions backed lightweight Ivan El Terribel Redkach (19-1, 15 ko’s) over 10 rounds at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NYC. Public opinion is split with some calling it easy work for the “American Idol” while others saying he is about to run into a Ukranian buzz saw. Vegas has yet to release odds.

This one is a tale of two fighters trending in different directions. Not long ago, many were calling Redkach a “can’t miss” prospect. The former Olympian (representing Ukraine) kicked off his pro career with an 18-0 record and looked good in the process. Today, not everyone is so sure of that label as the now Los Angeles based fighter has gone 1-1-1 in his last three fights, being stopped once and most recently boxing to a draw with the unknown Luis Cruz of Puerto Rico.

Now, he must rebound against a hungry fighter who has made no secret about wanting his 15th consecutive win to come by way of knockout. Farmer’s hot streak and crowd pleasing style has gained him notoriety among the boxing die-hards, but he still needs a big win to grab the attention of the fighters and promoters who draw the big crowds and large sums of money. Blasting out Redkach will be the type of name win that makes a statement.
The fight will be televised on Showtime Extreme, kicking off a big night at the Barclays on July 30th. How do you see this one ending?

  1. I ride with team farmer since 2-0. Ivan can bang but farmer fights like the ocean. Relentlessly bangs on the beach non stop. Only Moses could part the sea and unfortunately Ivan ain’t moses

  2. I’m betting on this one tev for the win hands down since he’s been working with Rell and got his conditioning together this kid has been great and fun to watch

  3. You can’t prepare for Tevin Farmer because he doesn’t know what he is going to do he has told me. I wish him all the best for one of the nicest boxers in the business. Another nice one is Jason Sosa who trains in the same gym who just won the WBA title.
