Could not upgrade database. There may not be enough free space on the drive or another program may be locking the database. Please free up disk space

Google Desktop Error Message at Start up:

The error message you get at start up goes like this. "Could not upgrade database. There may not be enough free space on the drive or another program may be locking the database. Please free up disk space or try uninstalling and reinstalling Google Desktop. D 80070020 5.7.802.22438".

But you have a ton of free disk space and you already uninstalled & reinstalled Google Desktop.

To REALLY fix it, you must rename the backup database in a folder found
here:

c:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data
\Google\Google Desktop\

it usually has a long name with numbers & letters, just call it OLD or something like that.

log out of your computer then log back in, error message should be gone.
